Dr. Ruby Desai grew up near Boston, Massachusetts. She went to Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts for her undergraduate studies and earned her medical degree at Saba University. She moved to Roanoke, Virginia to complete her Family Medicine residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She moved back near Boston, Massachusetts to be closer to her family and started her first job post residency. Her marriage brought her to Greenwich, Connecticut where she worked and started a family. In 2022, they made the decision to move to Prosper, TX to start a new chapter in their lives.

Dr. Desai and her husband have their hands full with their 2 young children, a son and a daughter, with whom they spend their time exploring different parks, taking weekend trips, or enjoying the Lagoon in their new community. She hopes to get back to international traveling once her kids are older but for now enjoys spending quality time at home with family and friends and discovering new things to do and eat in her new town!

Dr. Desai moved to Prosper, TX with the intention to practice within her own community. As a primary care physician, she believes in treating the patient as a whole and providing comprehensive and continuous care. She enjoys the broad scope of the discipline, where she gets to see diverse groups of patients with wide ranging issues. It makes each day challenging while also fulfilling. She firmly believes in the medical variation of the golden rule: treat others the way you would want your family to be treated. Therefore, she strives to treat each of her patients as if they were her own family. This means being a personal advocate for her patients, and treating each of them with kindness, respect, and appreciation.
